The staff and owners at The Catalyst Café and Tap Room believe firmly that ‘doing nothing’ is never an option!  We commit daily to be true to our name.  Both as individuals and as a company, we contribute time and resources to the local community where we live, and strive to make sustainable choices that help to care for the earth community that we all inhabit.  

Our commitment includes providing affordable (often free) meeting space for community members of all ages to come together, share ideas, and build relationships – we know all of our regulars by name, and many of our terrific customers really do consider our place an extension of their own living rooms. 

The Catalyst Café offers tables, couches, a private corner for conversation while watching children at play, and a friendly bar where regulars sit and chat with our staff when they have a moment to spare. 

Through the swinging doors, The Tap Room offers additional room to spread out and is host to many group activities, including professional meetings, clubs, school projects, recitals, wedding receptions, birthday parties and other friendly get-togethers. We extend our commitment to building healthy community beyond our doors by participating in annual events like Bike to Work Week, Treat-sylvania and the Sustainable Living Fair. 

Within our doors, we do our best to foster multi-generational community by offering a variety of programming with appeal to all ages, and by opening The Tap Room doors to musicians and fans of all ages.
